Chris Hart is currently lecturer in English Language and Communication at the University of Hertfordshire. He studied linguistics at the University of East Anglia before completing an MA there in Linguistics, Society and Culture. He is currently in the process of finishing his PhD at Lancaster University, entitled Critical Discourse Analysis and Cognitive Science: Applying Cognitive Linguistics and Evolutionary Psychology. He is co-editor of the volume Cognitive Linguistics in Critical Discourse Analysis: Application and Theory (Cambridge Scholars Press 2007) and author of several articles/chapters concerning metaphor and other aspects of meaning construction in discourse on immigration. He has published in international journals like Critical Discourse Studies and presented papers at numerous international conferences. Chris is co-organiser of the first and second international conferences CADAAD 2006 and 2008. He is also co-editor of the journal Critical Approaches to Discourse Analysis across Disciplines and was recently elected as a board member of the UK Cognitive Linguistics Association.
